Myths & Legends

Myths & Legends

Legend of the clouds
Once there was a young man called Ronald.
He lived in a forest near Mizik with his family.
He loved hunting and he hunted animals every day.
As the year went by, Ronald got stronger and braver.
He caught the thieves and helped the poor.
Everybody liked him and he became the hero of the forest.
One day, the people found that the sky was covered with
clouds, and there was no sunlight on the ground.
They had no idea about what happened. Suddenly,
a horror voice appeared: "Ha ha! Stupid people!
You will die without sunlight and I will be the king of
the Earth!  Everybody was frightened, they asked Ronald
for help. Kay decided to kill the devil, and he found a good
idea. He started to make a golden bow and some silver
arrows. After an hour, he finished and walked to the garden.
As he thought, there were so many clouds and he could
not see the sun. He wasn't afraid. He took out his golden
bow and silver arrows, and shot it to the sky. After a few
shots, most of the clouds were gone and they could see
the sun. The horror voice disappeared and never appeared
again.
Today, there is only a few clouds in the sky. Sometimes,
the cloud covers the sky and it starts to rain. But,
when the rain stops, you can see the rainbow in the sky,
because the silver arrow stops the rain and it becomes
colourful.
Bye Jazmine.

Natural Phenomenon - Clouds

This week we are doing myths & legends.
We are doing it about Natural Phenomenon and we had to pick something that we didn't know about and I picked clouds because I wanted to know how they were formed and I found out a really good fact about how they were made. And they are made from hot warm air and cold air and they mix and form a white fluffy thing in the air which is called a cloud. This is the slide I made about how clouds are formed & on the 3 page there is a video on clouds changing through the day!!

DLO - Maths

This we have worked on many things for maths and today Miss Power told us that we had to make a DLO about something we have done in maths this week: we have done Percentages & Decimal - Fractions & Rounding-Tenths. I have Manley been working on my percentages on maths buddy because I find them way easier than the Decimal fractions and rounding tenths. I think the Percentages easier because say you have 7/100 its would = 7% because if 100 is the bottom answer that means what ever the top answer is it is the answer.
Here is my DLO....

Through The couple of week we have been reading a book could The Mines afire and we haven't finished it all but we are near the end of the book. But Yesterday we had the writer come in and talk about the book of mine afire and we got to ask some questions as well. It was interesting to hear that basically the whole book is true. My class wanted to know if it was true or not if the older kids put the younger ones in the curtains and heaved them through the windows. But now days I don't think school kids do that now. I am happy that I got to find out a lot of information about the book And about herself. You should go read the book yourself It has a lot of detail from what happened back in the day.

Brunner Mine Site 25/3/19

The past couple of weeks we have been reading a book could mines a fire and we are half way through the book now And on 25/3/19 we went out to Brunner mine With my class. When we were out at Brunner mine we had to do different type of stuff some of the stuff were, we had to meme a play out of the book that we are ready and basically all groups had about 5 to 6 people in there groups. We had to dress up and get a photo shoot done. What I was Wearing - A skirt -White T-shirt - A hat - Black Coat. The next thing we did was my group had to answer questions that were all over the wall in the place that we ate in.
The book Mines A fire is really inserting. Today we had the author From mines a fire come into school today and my class T1 and T2 got to ask her some questions today.
I didn't ask any because I didn't have any in mind at the time. But it was Good to here that almost everything in the book is true and it's funny to know that in the book the older kids used to put the little ones in the curtains and heave them through the windows and then the younger ones would open the door For them. I am happy that I found out a lot of detail that happened back in the day.
On Tuesday It was the anniversary since the big explosion happened and it was 23 years ago.
here are some photos of the mine.....

Colour Day 22nd March 2019

Last week was a tragic week because on Friday 15th March 2019 there was a Mass shooting in Christchurch and it was sad to hear that 49 people past. It makes it more sad to hear that a 3 year old called Mujaad (Mucad) Ibrahim past away on the next day.  A 14 year old named Sayyad Milne past away from the tragic shooting as well. To know that someone would do this to such kind and loving people it breaks my heart to hear that we have lost 49 amazing souls in the attack. To all those people that got injured Greymouth is praying that you are all getting better.
I would just like to say that everyone that past was a kind and amazing we all love yous dearly.
